Zoey Cobb is a New York based percussionist, educator, and videographer who seeks to provide a fresh perspective on the music she is a part of. As a performer she has played in various venues ranging from parading down the streets of Ireland and small living rooms to Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall and Carnegie Hall's Perelman Stage. Playing for ensembles and organizations like Yellow Barn, Vic Firth, New England Symphony Ensemble, Mannes Orchestra, and University of Northern Iowa Wind Ensemble, and Panther Marching Band. Throughout her career she is fortunate enough to have collaborated and worked for amazing musicians and composers like Nathan Daughtery, Bart Picquer, Steven Snowden, Seth Knopp, Sō Percussion, James Baker, and Sandbox Percussion. During her time at UNI, she received the prestigious Anna Williams Award, named after the sudden passing of beloved sophomore, pep band member, and loyal Panther fan, Anna Williams. Zoey holds a BM from the University of Northern Iowa where she studied under Kramer Milan, Matt Andreini, and Ryan Frost and a MM from Mannes School of Music where she studied under Joe Tompkins, Ian Rosenbaum, Maya Gunji, and Glen Velez.
Zoey got her Bachelors degree in Percussion Performance at the University of Northern Iowa. While at UNI Zoey performed with ensembles like the Panther Marching Band (PMB), UNI Pep Band, Northern Iowa Symphonic Orchestra (NISO), Northern Iowa Wind Ensemble (NIWE), Laptop Ensemble, and Panther Percussion Ensemble. She has toured Ireland with the PMB and Paris, Luxembourg, and Brussels with the NIWE had it not been for COVID-19.
Zoey got her Masters degree in Percussion Performance at the Mannes School of Music. During her time there she has performed with ensembles like Mannes Orchestra, John Zorn’s COBRA, Solo Performance Drums, Mannes Chamber Music, Mannes American Composers Ensemble (MACE), Unsilent Film, Mannes Opera, and Mannes Percussion Ensemble. As well as numerous student composer projects.
Zoey has had the pleasure to be both a staff and musician for Yellow Barn. She has worked for Yellow Barn for two years as the Instruments and special production needs personnel. In 2023, she had her Yellow Barn debut as a musician.
